After 18 years in the accounting industry, our founder Tamryn Dicks realised that while she does get a thrill from balancing numbers, what truly lights her fire is solving problems.

Tamryn calls herself an “accidental” accountant because accounting featured absolutely nowhere in her life plan when she was young. It was not even in the small print. And yet, here she is today as the CEO of Pharsyde Accounting (no, that’s not this Pharsyde).

Tamryn learned very, very fast that there is far more to business than having a client and being good at a particular skillset! Her trials by fire led her to modify her accounting firm into a business-support structure instead, but she still battled to achieve the levels of success that she had hoped for.

Three rounds of burnout gave Tamryn the realisation that working hard gets you nowhere if you are working the wrong way! She sat back and re-evaluated things and then she proceeded to re-arrange everything and re-build her business.  Today, she owns or co-owns five businesses – all happily able to run without her.

And then, Pharsyde Solutions was born. Because Tamryn wanted to teach other business owners how to create that same freedom – how to create businesses that do not suck the life out of them!

But, our focus isn’t the business, our focus is you. You started this business for a reason. It is your personal needs, dreams, wants, fears and hopes that have led to this moment. So it is YOU that we want to help.

We don’t really do offices. Our entire team may work from home, or anywhere they wish. This makes our team happy and it reduces unnecessary electricity and water usage!

We do virtual meetings. This doesn’t mean you can’t have contact with a human being – we have warm and caring team members who are here because they are passionate about problem-solving and they WANT to help you. But there are fewer carbon emissions involved when we meet online instead of driving to a meeting – plus, you get to save on travel time and use those hours far more efficiently generating income for your business!

We use cloud-based software. This enables our employees to work from anywhere, but it also improves our efficiency and gives you the ability to have instant access to your information. It also opens up your business to the marvelous world of online apps. Think of the biggest problem your business is facing right now…. There is almost certainly an app for that!

We don’t do paperwork. Shock and awe. An accountant that doesn’t do paper! Nope. We use wonderful online document solutions. We can receive, send, store and backup documents without wasting a sheet of paper – and it’s safe and secure too!

We use online learning. The internet is a marvelous thing and it has opened up the world of learning to everyone. All of our courses are online. We do send you a little something to physically hold and enjoy with every course, but your actual learning experience is easy and seamless – no matter how many devices you choose to learn on.
